Come and experience the magical world of Ebru Marbling, where colors float on the surface of the water and transform into vibrant, organic patterns on paper.
At the workshop you will have the opportunity to create a lot of beautiful prints that can be used in bookbinding, for cards, collage or framed as they are. We will work with traditional colors based on soil pigment on the surface of water thickened with Carrageenan.
The Ebru marbling technique has its roots in Central Asia and Persia, where over time it has been used to decorate manuscripts, calligraphy and official documents. Later, the technique found its way to Europe, where it quickly gained popularity in bookbinding, papermaking, and stationery. At the workshop we will work with both traditional and more modern approaches to Ebru.
Working with Ebru is a very meditative and sensual process that one easily becomes engrossed in. No prior knowledge is required and everyone is welcome.
